IHA seeking people for media campaign
- would you be willing to help others and talk about your experience of genital herpes?

One of the key aims of the IHA is to overcome the stigma associated with genital herpes by promoting information and encouraging responsible reporting of the subject by the media.

When a member of the media contacts the IHA, they often ask to be put in touch with people with herpes who are happy to be interviewed and willing to share their experiences with others. These personal experiences are an extremely effective way of communicating the reality of living with genital herpes.

These media enquiries can take many different forms - from local newspapers or radio stations to women's magazines, national newspapers and even, occasionally, national TV and radio. Journalists tend to ask questions such as how genital herpes affects your life and particularly your relationships.

If you are interested in volunteering to participate in media interviews, the IHA would like to hear from you. We would never give your details to any journalist without your prior permission. You can specify whether you are willing to have a photograph taken or if you would prefer to remain anonymous. Remember that even if you 'sign up' to be a media contact, you can change your mind at any stage.
