Sweden introduces a new version of emergency contraception
'Condom ambulances' have been introduced in three major Swedish cities
in a bid to boost the use of condoms and to call a halt to the alarming
rise in sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as chlamydia and
genital herpes. Sweden has one of the highest rates of genital herpes
in Europe, with one in three women affected.

'Ask the Nurse' service on the IHA website has now been running for a
year and is proving as popular as ever, demonstrating the clear need for
this type of confidential and personalised information service. Since
she first went online in July 2003, our experienced nurse-counsellor,
